Our Mission, Personality and Beliefs

Believers Chapel North is a nondenominational church whose members come from all walks of life and from all parts of Oswego County, New York and beyond. We began in 1991 as a church plant of Believers Chapel in Cicero and our community has been growing ever since.

Our Primary Mission:

LOVING GOD.
LOVING OTHERS.
MAKING DISCIPLES.

Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commandment: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" and "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:30,31), and to fulfill the Great Commission: "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:18-20), so that people can come into a personal, transforming relationship with God.

Our Personality

About Our Church Family.

Our worship is not merely the prelude to a sermon, it is an expression of gratitude and thanksgiving for all of God's goodness to His people. Worship, both corporate and personal, is a powerful weapon, bringing us closer to Jesus, strengthening us when we’re in the midst of trials.

Our preachers teach from the Bible. Their goal is to help you better understand God's Word, without compromising its powerful message.

No matter our size, we love that we have the heart of a small church. When you visit you will be welcomed with a sense of connection and our desire to make you feel comfortable. We invite you to come as you are in every sense.

Statement of Faith

On the Bible's Supremacy

We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

On the Holy Trinity

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matt 3:16-17)

On Christ's Deity

We believe in the deity of Christ (Acts 2:36), in His virgin birth (Luke 1:30-35), in His sinless life (Heb 4:15), in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death (1 Peter 2:24), in His resurrection from the dead (Acts 2:24), in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Acts 2:31), and in His personal and imminent second coming. (Rev 19:11)

On Individual Regeneration

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit (new birth - born again - John 3:3) for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature (Rom 8:20); that we are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ (Titus 3:7); and that only by God’s grace and through faith we are saved. (Eph 2:5)

On Eternal Destiny

We believe in the literal existence of Heaven for the redeemed in Christ and in a literal Hell, the place of conscious punishment for the unsaved. (John 14:2, Rev 20:15)

On the role of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are in operation today for the edification of the Church and for the conversion of unbelievers. (Rom 12:6-8, 1 Cor 12:8-10, Eph 4:11)
