Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:17
When you become a Christian, you become a brand-new
person on the inside. Once you've committed
your life to Christ and are
in fellowship with God, you'll want to learn more about
His character as well as how to grow closer to Him.
But grow in the grace and knowledge
of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:18
Here are some important things that will help you
grow in your walk with the Lord:
-
Read your Bible daily
Man does not live on bread alone, but on every
word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew
4:4

Pray daily
Prayer is simply talking to God like you would
your best friend. Talk to Him about everything in
your life and He will help you.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present
your request to God. Philippians 4:6
This, then, is how you should pray: "Our
father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom
come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil
one." Matthew 6: 9-13
-
Worship, fellowship and serve with other Christians
in a church where Christ is preached
To help you grow, find a church that teaches
the Bible as 100% the Word of God. Attend church
each week so you may learn about God and your
relationship with Him.
I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let
us go to the house of the Lord." Psalm
122:1
Come, let us bow down in worship, let us
kneel before the Lord our Maker; Psalm 95:6
Worship the Lord with gladness; come before
him with joyful songs. Psalm 100:2
As you develop your vertical relationship with
God, you will also be developing your horizontal
relationship with other Christians.
Love each other just as much as I love you.
Your strong love for each other will prove to
the world that you are my disciples. John
13:34-35
You, my brothers, were called to be free.
But do not use your freedom to indulge in sinful
nature; rather, serve one another in love. Galatians
5:13
-
Tell others about Christ
Tell your friends and loved ones about your relationship
with Jesus and invite them to receive Him, too.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of
the earth. Acts 1:8
-
Demonstrate your new life
Live in a way that pleases the Lord by obeying
what the Bible says. He will give you the faith
to believe and the power to do His will as you
choose to put Him first in your life.
...that he who began a good work in you will
carry it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus. Philippians 1:6
