Volunteers are always welcome for publication production, phone coverage and other miscellaneous needs. E-mail our Office Manager or call the church office if you are interested in volunteering.

Here's what our Office Manager has to say:

What God wants me to accomplish as the Office Manager at Believers Chapel North:
Believers Chapel North is a seed that God has planted in Oswego County. It is full of potential and I am convinced that God has a plan and purpose for BCN that goes beyond anything any of us can hope or imagine. Maintaining an office that is efficient, effective and friendly is an important part of laying down strong roots. Also, by taking responsibility for a portion of the necessary administrative duties, I can increase the amount of time available to the pastors and elders for pastoral care and church growth. I believe that I am not joining this staff by accident. I know that God will use me in growing this church. I am excited to be a part of what God is doing here at BCN and in His church body around the world. I am ready to do my part to nourish the seed that is Believers Chapel North and to be ready for the great things that God has planned!

Defining an office:
According to The Merriam-Webster Dictionary, an office is a place where a business is transacted or a service is supplied. The BCN office fulfills both definitions. Not only are necessary business tasks taken care of here; it also provides a very important service as an active information liaison between the pastors, elders, servants, members and the community.

Successful characteristics of an office:

Efficient:
Keeping the office organized, stocked and clean are key to its efficiency. Time is wasted when information is not easily accessible or when supplies are not available. Cleanliness is important for proper function of sensitive office machinery. Also, a clean office presents itself to those it serves as a place of integrity.

Effective:
Gathering and relaying information within and outside of the office determines its effectiveness. Information needs to be accurate and complete and used appropriately. Caution must be taken to ensure that the procedures that outline information management do not create more work than they save. When an office is effective those who are served by it have confidence in it.

Friendly:
Maintaining a friendly work environment serves two functions. First, a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere at work is directly related to what gets accomplished. The whole office staff must work together and earnestly seek to communicate well and be respectful of one another. Second, the people outside the staff who need to access the services of the office will hesitate to do so if they are not treated courteously. When an office is friendly it can properly serve.

My responsibilities as Office Manager:

  • To keep the office organized, stocked and clean.

  • To complete all administrative duties that have been assigned to me promptly and accurately.

  • To act as an information liaison between the pastors, elders, servants, members and the community.

  • To create and maintain a friendly office environment.
